New Yr's Eve

It is going to be a very quiet New Year's Eve. We will stay home, need the break. We decided this yr that for the first time Gage (8) can stay up with us to ring in the new year. We asked him if he would like to ring in the new yr with us and he said yes. Our plan is to let him set up a sleep camp on the couch, so if he needs to sleep he can and we will wake him up at around 11:45 PM. I will have 3 special glasses out for us to have juice and cheer in the new year!

So I failed to mention that we had a really good time at Dad and Sharon's on last Friday. Sharon had all kinds of desserts and snacks out and ham sandwiches and chips. She has peanut butter sandwiches for the kiddies too! We had a lot of fun!

On tomorrow we will go out to find something for Gage to wear to go tubing. We are pretty sure that this will become a more than once a yr event. (will update on how that goes after Sat).

Gage and Grayson were home today with Jessica (thanks Jessica!!!) since mom and dad both had to work.

Have a safe New Year's Eve everyone!!!

Our Very Busy Week!!

We have a busy week this week, here is some of what is happening. Today, Grayson had a MRI scan to look at his left leg. We have had popping going on since Jan with no diagnosis yet! His Ped has seen it pop, none of his other MD's nor his therapists have been able to see it. Very frustrating. Tonight gage and Jarrett will go to the Wake Forest VS Radford basketball game. Jarrett graduated from Radford Univ. Gage has already asked who to cheer for as they have been Wake Forest football fans. We all went to a game this fall, it was great fun. This weekend starts Upward Basketball. Jarrett and Gage have practice Sat morning. Then they are off to Winterplace to go snow tubing, we think. Depends on how things pan out this week. I (Paula) was to work today, but Grayson did terrible with the anesthesia. He was much more groggy and out of it then we anticipated. I had to call into work, not a good thing today, as my teammate at work is on vacation this week! But babies ALWAYS come first !!!

Grayson is a precious baby boo! He is napping, but wakening now, gotta run. Must say that Gage had to go with us to the scan, and was so very patient, never complained. He was ready to go to the Y as they ahve another field trip today, but again he NEVER complained! More later.

More Christmas

This is from Christmas Eve. We traditionally exchange gifts this night. I was a very fun evening! Here are a few more pics. See Gage receiving his DS, he says, "It is awesome!"
Grayson, on the other hand, is not so sure about the ripping, tearing, and NOISE!! At each gathering we have had to give him a little break! Understandably so, we had a huge crowd here Saturday, it was very fun, and awesome to have family around, but most definitely noisy!!

Christmas Day, Happy Birthday Jesus

We could not believe that Gage slept in! Grayson woke up around 8:00. Jarrett's sister Janna and her husband Johnny were here. We all came down to celebrate together. We had a breakfast casserole and biscuits. Gage and Grayson had a great time this morning. Gage was so happy about his gifts from Santa. He was not sure which was his favorite prize. Grayson 100% loved his Cozy Coup the best. He had a very difficult time getting out of it once he was in.....Gage was pretty excited about his pulse and go scooter. We had to hurry and get ready for our next "party" soon after lunch. We had Paula's Dad over, his wife Sharon, Paula's sister Jackie, her husband Van and their two teens, Josh and Jessie. Dan, Paula's brother was a no show. We had a really good dinner, ham, slaw, homemade mac and cheese, vegetable casserole, spicy baked beans, green beans, rolls..... ummm. We had coconut cake, chocolate cake, cherry cheesecake, fudge and snack mix. The fellowship with family was of course the best of all! This picture is of Gage, he had just walked into the den to investigate what Santa left, and his knee popped right when Jarrett snapped the pic. OOh My Grayson had such a hard time going to bed, he cried and cried because he did not want to get out of his car!

Oh Holy Night!!

Christmas Eve, everyone is happy and excited. Gage knows that tomorrow is the birthday of Jesus. BUT he also still knows that Santa comes tonight! He is giddy about that! Traditions around the house have changed some over the years as our family and extended family have had changes. Jarrett and I used to spend a quiet Christmas Eve at home, sometimes go to an evening service. We have traveled to Virginia many years to spend Christmas with Jarrett's family, until a few yrs ago when his mother passed away. Jarrett is one of seven, his sibs now come into town for Christmas and we either host here at our home or go to Jarrett's sisters home. We will host at our home this yr on Sat Dec 27. We will be here tonight Christmas Eve. Jarrett's sister Janna and husband Johnny will be here as she is on call at a local hospital. We will host my family here tomorrow, Christmas Day. We will go to my Dad's Friday. That will be my Dad, his wife Sharon, my sister Jackie, her husband Van, and their two teens, Josh and Jessie. My brother Dan will be there too!

The countdown!!

We are counting down the days until we celebrate Christmas Day!! Happy Birthday to Jesus! We have a party planned for Jesus and cannot wait to sing Happy Birthday to our Savior!!
We have invited Paula's side of the family over for dinner, not sure who is coming yet. On Saturday Jarrett's side of the family will come over, menu undecided (thanks JP). The not knowing is hard for me, as I LIKE to PLAN!! This is where the good Lord comes in and reminds me, calm down!! It will be OK! Thanks GOD.... He is always here! Be thinking now, what is your gift to Jesus on His Birthday??..............

Still lots of work to do!

My Jessica came over to set up the blog today (thanks Jessie). I am so not techno, she just ran right through it! So I will soon teach Gage how to journal here as he has said that he wants too, but I am sure it will be way after new Christmas digs get old. Better run for now, have to work tomorrow, Monday Dec 22. I have to run some errands after work, shhhh secret, a very few more small prizes to pick up! Jarrettt is off tomorrow, he will have Gage, his cousin Trent, and Gage's buddy Sean all here for the day! Busy....!!! Hopefully during Christmas break I can get the blog in order!!
